YOUR MEMBERSHIP helps MACHS in the following areas:
ADVOCACY: Your MACHS membership gives homeschoolers a voice. MACHS works with HSLDA to advocate with the government for Manitoba homeschool families.
HSLDA: MACHSmembers are offered a $30 discount on HSLDA membership fees.
ONLINE SUPPORT: Members can find answers and support on MACHS’ website and Facebook group and can reach MACHS by email ([email protected]) to address questions or address concerns.
CONFERENCES: The annual conference with workshops, speakers and curriculum from suppliers coming from across Canada and the U.S. is organized by MACHS volunteers.
RECORDINGS: MACHS membership gives full access to all conference recordings, including from past years, available on the MACHS website.
OPERATING COSTS: While conference fees cover conference expenses, MACHS membership is what covers all of the operating costs associated with operating MACHS itself as a non-profit organization. This includes the required insurance, website expenses, and other overhead costs which we work to keep at a minimum. All MACHS board and committee members are volunteers.
NETWORKING: MACHS Regional Reps help connect you with other homeschool families in your area and keep you informed of any opportunities you might be interested.
INFORMATION: This includes brochures, information packets, and Homeschool 101 events to help inform and equip homeschoolers.
COMMUNITY BUILDING: Events planned to help build our community include the MACHS picnic, Book Challenge 2025, and the Homeschool Mom’s Summer Reading Book Club.
COMPASSIONATE SUPPORT: MACHS assists members facing various hardships including loss of employment, fire, significant health issues, and death.
INVESTING IN HOMESCHOOL LEADERSHIP AND NETWORKING: MACHS is affiliated with partner organizations and sponsors leaders to attend conferences at national (HSLDA) and international (Alliance) levels.
